Ducks up to date

Ducks up to date!!!! Yes, there has been a break in posting the duck roll while I have been recovering from a break in a bone in my right ankle.  Mammoth task: both the recovering from the broken ankle - three months to date, and the updating of the ducks - three hours today.

These are ducks 68 to 140. They are now all posted, counted and correct. During this process I did find a lovely small gold Christmas decoration duck that was hiding out with the Christmas decorations not with the ducks and therefore had missed out previously on being counted and photographed. And now I have forgotten who gave it to me. December 2012 was the last time I had put up Christmas decorations therefore deducing it had to be a present that Christmas, possibly from Kerry or Bernice. Please let me know!!  I have checked with Rosa and Athenie already and they do not recall it.

There are definite themes arranging themselves now there are so many ducks - there are two Swarovski crystal ducks, two dish washing ducks, two suitcase label ducks, many Christmas ducks, to name a few of the themes. I may explore these themes at another time.

Ciao for now!!

and continuing with the ducks..............

Here are 61 to 67, early 2013, all purchased by me. 61 I found in Thredbo while having four days there with Rosa and Sinclair and the rest I purchased through the Duckshop in Germany.  I stopped at 67 as the next grouping are the Christmas ducks and as they all like to hang out together, what else could I do but do them as the next group?

Back again.........

The past two and a half years since my last post have been action-packed, though that is not the reason why I have not posted. Life becomes difficult sometimes and that could sum up what this time has been. As things happen I am back and feeling like a new woman. Life is now looking up after having a left hip total replacement in November; I can now walk again without a stick (sorry, duck walking stick, you are not needed at present) and am without pain for the first time in very many years!! It is quite extraordinary!

Anyway, I am back in Darwin, working at CDU and recently shifted into new share accommodation, with the ducks of course. There are 136 of them, including duck paraphernalia, so it is taking me some time to catalogue them and put them onto the post.

Yes, I have a duck roll. This is important as people give them to me as presents as well as being purchased by me from around the world and so I like to remember who has given them, where they come from and also which ducks have travelled where, as I always travel with at least one duck. Though I don't think I have ever travelled with only one duck. Before I can turn around and shut the suitcase there are usually three in there; and if I am driving somewhere there are at least five.

So check out the 'My Ducks' page. I am up to 45, which is quite good as there were only eight on there yesterday morning.

Keep ducking along!

Some ducks and myself in Bali, August 2014, pre hip replacement operation so looking a little strained - me that is, not the ducks, they as usual are quite happy.
